The Ecological Point of Veiw

When an ingredient is harvested, it can be done by two ways: by hand or by machine. Most of the places where Nutella ingredients harvest the ingredient by hand, but some wealthy countries choose to do it by machine. Harvesting by hand will mean a lot less pollution being created, whereas when it is done by machines, the machines have to be powered by a fossil fuel known as oil. Burning the oil can be harmful to the environment because of how it contaminates water, the air, plants, etc. The ingredients that are exposed to pollution created by machines are likely to become contaminated because it is coming contact with the pollution. We don't know how well the workers are being paid, which means there may or may not be an economic issue as well.

When the products are being processed and used in the Nutella factories, machines are used to do everything. The machines used will run on one of two things: electricity or fossil fuels. If the machines run on electricity, it may be harmful to the environment, or it may not. It depends on how it was generated. Electricity is a secondary resource, which means that it can be generated by renewable resources (solar, wind, water, etc.), or fossil fuels. If it was generated by a renewable resource, it is considered a renewable resource, but if it was generated by a fossil fuel, it is a non-renewable resource because fossil fuels are non-renewable. This all means that there is a ecological impact on the environment because of all the pollution that is let out.

There may also be social impacts. The workers who work in the factories will be deprived of a social life because they will be stuck in a factory all day doing jobs they probably don't even want to be doing. Some workers are forced to work because of economic reasons, so they have no choice but to work in factories.
